Wyre Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 754
 
Installation meeting 17th April 2024 at the Masonic Hall, Esplanade, Fleetwood.
The WM, WBro. David Platt opened the meeting at 1800 hrs.
25 Brethren were present, including 3 Very Worshipful Brothers and 4 Grand Officers.
WBro. Giles Frederick Berkley PGJD, DepPGM representing the RWPGM, entered the Lodge under the direction of WBro. Tony Farrar PGSwdB, ProvDepGDC, accompanied by Very Worshipful, Grand and Provincial Officers.
The WM greeted and welcomed the deputation to the Lodge.
 
 
 
 
Suitable salutations were given by the Brethren and responses made.
The WM requested that the following Brethren occupied the following Offices for the purposes of the installation ceremony:
  • SW – WBro. Paul Smedley WM Cleveleys Mark No. 1176
  • JW – WBro. Andrew Stansfield PProvGSO WM Imperial Mark No. 1276
  • IG – WBro. Brian Burgess Dicks PProvGJO
WBro. Dennis Smith PProvGSW (DC) presented Bro. David Charles Shaw Master Elect, to the WM for the benefit of installation.
The WM proceeded to install Bro. Shaw in an excellent and sincere manner.
The addresses were given by:
  • WM –           WBro. Tony Cross DGSwdB
  • Wardens -    VWBro. Howard Emmett PGJO
  • Overseers – WBro. Dennis Smith 
VWBro. Stephen Windsor Leach PGSO, gave an explanation of the keystone jewel to the WM.
WBro. Berkley gave the address to the Brethren.
Upon completion of the ceremony, WBro. Berkley congratulated the WM on behalf of the RWPGM and wished all the Officers and Brethren well. WBro. Platt was congratulated on an excellent ceremony.
A cheque was presented to WBro. Berkley by the WM, for £250 for the WLMCF.
The Lodge business was finalised and the WM closed the Lodge and everybody retired to the bar and onto the excellent festive board, which was accompanied by lively conversation, a good deal of banter and the selling of a number of West Lancs ties!
WBro. Berkley responded to the toast to Grand Officers and mentioned amongst other things; the Provincial Grand Lodge meeting on the 2nd May, the importance of recruitment to our Lodges and the West Lancs Mark website.

A Fleetwood fiddle raffle was organised by WBro. Mike Brown ProvGSD, which raised £151!

An enjoyable Installation night was had by all!
